Spectra solar panels are so tough you .
can even walk on them in deck shoes!
Spectra solar panels are ideal for maintaining and replacing natural discharge in 12 Volt deep cycle batteries in
leisure applications.
In wintertime you can avoid the trouble of taking batteries home for topping up by installing one of the Spectra
range of 5 Watt, 10 Watt,  20 Watt or 32 Watt solar panels.
In the UK we recommend a minimum ratio of a 10 Watt solar panel to a 100 Ah battery to replace natural
discharge in the wintertime.
In the UK summertime this increases up to a potential of 3 Ah a day and up to 21 Ah weekly, typically enough to
run a weekend’s electrical needs for lighting etc.
Most importantly you’ll arrive to a battery that is not flat!
Solar energy gives you the convenience of power being available for engine starting, lighting and other low energy appliances.
Once installed the photovoltaic (solar) panel works quietly and efficiently at recharging without any effort on your part
SPECTRA PRODUCT RANGE AND SPECIFICATION

…..An affordable range of solar panels to save your batteries from deep discharge!

KEEP BATTERIES TOPPED UP!

Choose a panel or panels suitable for your requirements from the Spectra range based on the minimum’s recommended above
and simply scale up on the same basis for larger batteries, ie 20 Watt solar panel for a 200 Ah battery.
For faster battery replenishment or where more power is. . consumed use larger solar panels than the minimum ratio or multiple
units in parallel.
SpectraLite panels can be connected in parallel to increase the Ampere hour rating at 12 Volt or in series to generate  at 24 Volt.
Spectra solar panels are robustly constructed on a fibreglass substrate with a
scratch proof clear Tedlar superstrate.
They are very slimline and lightweight and have no metal outer components
to make contact with the surface to which they are fitted.
The efficient and stable polycrystalline cells are encapsulated between the
2 tough outer layers so the whole panel is weatherproof and carries a limited
2 year warranty.
The sealed junction box which also houses the blocking diode has 3 m trs
of output cable.
The panels can be gently flexed to follow a smooth curve such as a coach roof
by up to 1cm per 30cm along the length of the panel.
Each panel has 4 grommet finished holes for fixing.
A built in diode prevents current from flowing back from the battery to the solar
panel in darkness so Spectra panels can be connected directly to the battery.
Electrical connection is simple and the use of a solar regulator is recommended to prevent overcharge if the system is to be
left unattended for long periods or the solar panel to battery ratio exceeds the minimum of 10W to 100Ah.
Spectra Semi Flexible & Spectra Flexible
Solar Panels
SpectraLite 5 watt / 10 watt / 20 watt Semi Flexible
SpectraFlex 32w Flexible Solar Panels
These panels are extremely light weight, durable, compact and portable - ideal  temporary or mobile situations

They are easily fixed up like flag or banner and easily packed away for transportation because of this they are
also easily moved around for placement in a position with optimum sun.
They are just as easily fixed to something more permanent such as caravan roof, boat deck, mounting board etc
NB SpectraFlex is suitable for 12 Volt connection only
Spectra Solar Features

Spectra Solar has been designed with the yachtsman in mind

All models
􀀀 Are robustly designed and built so they can even be walked on in soft soled shoes
􀀀 Are conveniently lightweight and elegantly slimline so easily installed
􀀀 Include a sealed junction box with blocking diode and 3 meters of output cable
􀀀 Have fixing holes which are sealed with an eyelet for a quality finish

SpectraFlex and SpectraLite each have features and benefits specific to their individual designs.
The Spectraflex is a solar panel made from a Spectrum
splitting amorphous silicon cell design that converts
very low levels of light to useable solar energy.

Unlike other types of amorphous silicon technology the
SpectraFlex is very stable over many years where others
degrade rapidly soon after deployment.

Bypass diodes are connected across each cell so the
panel is also shadow tolerant.

It is a highly flexible panel constructed using UV
stabilised polymers, bonded and stitched to a cushioned
backing material.

The whole unit can be rolled to a diameter of just 30 cm
for storage and in use placed on to curved surfaces
such as a sail boom or a curved roof.
SpectraLite is a range of semi-flexible solar panels made
from efficient and stable crystalline cells.

These cells are sealed between a fibreglass substrate
that ensures durability whilst keeping weight low and a
scratch-proof Tedlar superstrate with excellent light
transmissive properties.

The cells of the SpectraLite 20 & 10 quite uniquely are
arranged in 2 halves each producing full voltage.

Should one half become shaded the other half exposed
is still capable of generating its part of the panel’s
power output.

These solar panels are designed to be gently curved to
follow a curved roof and can be fixed using the 4 screw
holes or using suitable adhesive to avoid drilling holes.

SpectraLite can be curved up to 3 cm over 1 m
proportionately.
Electrical connection is simple, connect directly to a battery or through a solar regulator to prevent overcharge if the system is
to be left unattended for long periods or the solar panel to battery ratio exceeds the minimum of 10W to 100Ah of battery.

Spectra solar panels are not only an affordable choice for maintaining your batteries but you’ll even save money too on
avoiding mains hook up costs and replacing deep discharged batteries.

A well maintained battery delivers more charge and discharge cycles and has a longer life.
