CERAMIC FILTRATION
The heart of any water filter is its candle or element Doulton™ & British Berkefeld™ candles are made from a highly
specialised porous ceramic, designed to give: -
* Filtration down to 0.9 micron ABSOLUTE by means of a strictly controlled range of pore sizes
* Flow rates of up to 300 litres per hour at 3 bar line pressure
* An easily cleaned outer surface for prolonged life
* An Internal space which can be filled with a variety of dedicated water treatment media for enhanced performance.
As the water passes through the porous ceramic wall, the intricate maze of microscopic passages trap the suspended
particles and pathogenic organisms leaving only clean water, complete with all the healthful and beneficial
minerals, to emerge from the threaded candle mount.

Why a ceramic filter?
The small and complex pore structure of Doulton™ & British Berkefeld™
ceramics makes them an ideal filter medium for drinking water: -
High Efficiency Filter: Doulton™ & British Berkefeld™ filters are capable of removing
more than 99.99% of pathogenic bacteria, disease causing cysts such as Cryptosporidium
& Giardia and particals.
Long Life & Value for Money: The outer shell of these ceramic elements may be cleaned
in order to prolong the life of the product. Therefore the filter can be re-used. On average
the filter element will remain effective for at least 6 months (depending on the water
quality) before it will need to be replaced.
Anti bacterial action: FICL’s ceramics contain a proprietary system to inhibit
microbiological growth, meaning that there is no need to sterilise these ceramic filters.
Retains Essential Minerals: Doulton™ & British Berkefeld™ ceramic filters keep those
minerals which are beneficial to health in the water
No Power Required: These filters are stand alone and do not require electricity to function
